Musica nelle Marche is a four-week program of intensive Italian language and culture study.  The musical component includes coaching of Italian operatic arias, duets, songs, and choral repertoire by faculty members Heather Ross Crafts, Julian Dawson, Clayton Parr and Linda Hirt.

There will be four performances: two in Urbania at the Teatro Bramante and Centro Studi Italiani, as well as two in neighboring towns, where we have many friends eager to greet us.

The weekly schedule is designed with free time available on Wednesday afternoons and all day Saturday and Sunday in order to permit students to travel and immerse themselves in the Italian culture.

In addition to excursions organized by Centro Studi, participants will have activities (at no extra cost) organized by Music in the Marche.  In 2007 those events included a cooking (and eating!) class, a wine tour with dinner, a visit to an isolated hillside country house, and a chance to rehearse, perform, and celebrate with local musicians.
