Born in Tokyo, Japan, she initially began studying classical dance
and traditional Japanese dance. As a child soprano she appeared in the
operas “Yuuzuru”, “Carmen” and “ Sogno d’estate”. |

Pamela Lucciarini was born in Turin, has a diploma in pianoforte
and chamber music and has studied singing with the tenor Robleto Merolla.
Has a Batchelor with Distinction and has also received the Vicenza prize
for Baroque song, with Patrizia Vaccari and Gloria Banditelli. Started concert
activity with the Messe de Minuti de Noel of Charpentier, which was broadcast
live onto Radio France, then was called upon to do Mozart's Missae Brevis
KV 140, KV 220 and continued with Kronungmesse KV 317 and Vesprae Solemnes
de Confessore KV 339. In Vicenza she performed Handelian repertoire with
instruments: Echeggiate, festeggiate, Numi eterni HMV 119; Alpestre monte
HMV 81 and Notte placida e cheta HMV 142 with the "Musicali Affetti"
and the song for soprano and bugle Jauchzet Gott inallen Landen BWV 51 by
J. S. Bach, directed by Poalo Faldi. Since then has performed "La Betulla
Liberata" from Mozart and "Juditha Triumphans" from Vivaldi.
Has also performed with in the "cameristiche" style and sung in
the more specific vocal style of "secentesche" and "liederistica".
Has performed the Operatic roles of Venere in Il Ballo delle Ingrate, Rizzolina
from Barca di Venezia per Padova by A.Banchieri, Clorinda, and Tancredi
text, from Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda by Monteverdi, Belinda from
Dido and Aeneas by H. Purcell, Elvira from Don Giovanni and Cassandra and
Giunone from La Didone, by F. Cavalli. Was a finalist of numerous international competitions in 2004 , gained the prize "A.Corelli" of Fusignano with the "Recitar Cantando" ensemble. Has been directed by F. Maria Bressan, Paolo Faldi, Riccardo Bavero, Bettina Hofmann, Fabio Missaggia, Riccardo Muti, Fabio Biondi and has worked with Musicali Affetti, Europa Galante, La Calandria, Accademia S. Felice, Melodi Cantores, Officina Musicum, Stirps Jesse, and Tonus Peregrinus. Has performed in Italy and other foreign countries for important agencies such as Festival di Brezice (Slovenia), Spazio e Musica - from Palazzo Montanari of Vicenza (X edition), Fondazione Pergolesi-Spontini of Jesi, Teatro Olimpico - Vicenza, Teatro Rossini (Agency of Concerti di Pesaro), Ravenna Festival, Israel Festival, Teatro Carignano of Turin in a production of Unione Musicale, Teatro La Fenice of Venezia, Teatro di Parma - where recently performed the opera Francesco Cavalli under the direction of F. Biondi. In Venezia has performed in the Church of S. Giacomo to the Orio, and performed before a world-wide audience with the "Come se il canto fosse già la strada" of Paolo Furlani. Will perform "Si salvi chi può" a Roman moral song - with the Ensemble Recitarcantando (Urbino, Palazzo Ducale and Oratorio of S. Giovanni,7/08/07); has also performed from the oratorio "Der Tod Jesu" by C. H. Graun - Accademia del Santo Spirito, Pal Nemeth, director for the International September Music Festival (Milano, S. Alessandro, 22/09/07). Has performed on recordings for Tactus: "Messa, Salmi, Sinfonie and Magnificat" by G. A. Daune
Mahy, Professor of Singing at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. She has
appeared frequently with opera companies and orchestras in the Midwest
and the East, including Opera Omaha, the Kentucky Opera Association, the
St. Louis Municipal Opera, the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, the Akron Symphony
and the Buffalo Philharmonic. She made her New York Recital debut in 1984
at Merkin Concert Hall. Ms. Mahy was the soprano soloist in a nationally
syndicated radio broadcast of Benjamin Britten's "War Requiem"
marking the 20th anniversary of the work's first performance. In 1982
she also made a highly acclaimed recital tour of Spain. In 1997 she performed
the Oberlin premier of George Walker's 1996 Pulitzer Prize winning composition
"Lilacs" for soprano and orchestra. Ms. Mahy has concertized in Germany,
France, and Italy. She holds degrees from Westminster Choir College and
Indiana University. She is the Director of the
Oberlin in Italy Program. |

Cinzia Pennesi is renowned for her
activity as orchestra and choir conductor, pianist and composer
in Italy, Germany, Spain, Greece, Romania, Switzerland, Malta
and South America. Her expertise as teacher and composer with
Sir Neville Marriner in New York has won her a prestigious
presence at Carnegie Hall (2001). |

Maja Schermerhorn - soprano. The Dutch soprano
Maja Schermerhorn completed her studies as an opera and concert singer
at the Conservatorium of Maastricht, passing her examinations with honours.
She followed with master-classes by Hans Hotter, Hermann Reutter and Janine
Micheau, with whom she continued her studies for some years in Paris.
In 1970, she received the second prize in the 'Nationaal Cum Laude Concours'
held in Groningen. She performed regularly as a soloist in operas, operettas,
oratoria and song recitals both in the Netherlands and other European
countries. She also made regular radio and television broadcasts and recorded
LPs and CDs. Her extensive repertoire includes not only classical works
but also a wide selection of contemporary music. A number of world premieres
are attributed to her name. Maja Schermerhorn is a very experienced vocal
teacher - as well as giving private lessons, she has taught at a conservatorium
and she has adjudicated for several international singing concourses.
Besides Dutch, she speaks English, French, German and Italian. |

Stephen Swedish, American pianist, has built an international
reputation as an outstanding solo performer and a world-class collaborator
and chamber music player. The Los Angeles Times, on the occasion
of a recent performance, wrote: "It was aristocratic playing which reminded
this listener of the legendary Dinu Lipatti." Stephen Swedish studied
at Indiana University, where his major teacher was pianist Menahem Pressler,
pianist of the celebrated "Beaux Arts Trio". He has served on
the artist-faculties of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the Universities
of Wisconsin and Maryland and others. He has also taught in Europe at
the Conservatorio dall'Abaco in Verona,Italy, the International Haydn
Festival at the Esterhazy Palace in Eisenstadt, Austria and the Oberlin-in-Italy
program in partnership with the Centro Studi Italiani in Urbania, Italy.
Stephen Swedish has collaborated with artists such as cellist Janos Starker,
violist William Primrose, violinist Josef Gingold, and soprano Eileen
Farrell, as well as many others. Dr. Swedish is the pianist of the Kapell
Piano Trio, and has performed as a soloist with many of the world's great
symphony orchestras. He has recorded on the RCA Red Seal, Mercury, and
Gasparo record labels. |

Sebastian
Vittucci. Born in New York, he
graduated Magna cum Laude from the Eastman School of Music and completed
his Masters Degree in Voice at the University of Michigan. At both universities
he was nominated for the Pi Kappa Lambda honor society. A Rotary Foundation
International Fellowship furthered his studies at the Hochschule für Musik
in Vienna with Anton Dermota and Gerhard Kahry, receiving his Diploma
in Lied and Oratorio. During this time he was the recipient of both a
Fulbright Fellowship and a scholarship from the Vienna Ministry of Science
and Research. He was trained intensively in the Feldenkrais Method® and
received official license as a Practitioner in 1995 by the International
Feldenkrais Foundation. |

ZHANG
Xian. She graduated from the Secondary School attached to the Central
Conservatory of Music in 1965, and from the Musicology Department of the
Conservatory in 1970. She worked at the Music Research Institute of China
Art Research Academy from 1973 to 1975. She has been working with the
Editorial Department of the magazine People's Music since 1976,
successively as editor, Director of Editorial Department, and Deputy Editor-in-Chief
and Editor-in-Chief. In 1993 she was offered the position of Editing Supervisor.
She has been Member of the Senior Professional Title Evaluation Committee
in CFLAC's Publishing Field since 1996. |
